Textured representation of the textures, movement and colours found in a Coral reef.
The flow and shapes of the abstract forms reflect the formations and tones that are unique to this form of ecosystem.
The figures blend together in a similar unison found on the sea bed, but are distinct enough to be seem as individual creations. The lighter hues complement the deeper tones to stress shape and movement. From a distance, six figures can be seen, but on closer inspection, they merge and blend together.
Turquoise and sea blue merges with light silvers and greys.
Size: 66cm x 51cm inclusive.
Frame: White Wood
This large textured and metallic artwork depicts the precious elements found in life.

Cuan is a dramatic and sweeping artwork that portrays the beauty, movement and colours found along our coastlines.
The choice of colours emphasises the tidal flow and breaking waves mixing with the varying sea blues as the moonlight reflects off the surface to give a glistening array of tones and reflective swirls.
The textures allow the colours to break and merge throughout the painting, and rise above the tinted resin to give a rustic and three dimensional look to this artwork.
Cuan represents the strength and force of the ocean, as well as its beauty and movement.
Cuan is sold as Unframed.

Maasai is a textured metallic artwork on stretched canvas.
The image represents two young Maasai warriors on the plains of southern Kenya.
The Inspiration for this artwork was taken from an image of an old stone carving. I loved the shapes and visual emotions associated with its distorted form, twisted lines and the perceived weight of the angelic wings.
The Angel is in a contorted pose, with her head tilted back to one side. The wings are rising through the resin and stand out from the canvas.
As the original image was carved form stone, I wanted to portray aspects of this in the artwork. Sections of the wings have been sanded down to emphasise t age and fragility as well as depicting the timescale that the angel has been in existence.
The colours have been chosen to give a distinction between her form and her wings.
The message is positive whilst emphasising the struggles and trauma she must go through to deliver it.
Size: 60cm x 60cm. 2cm x 4cm Frame: Deep Grey Box frame. Medium: Textures, Metallics, Acrylics & Ink.
Textured and toned image of a father and child holding hands as they walk.
The tonal fades and colours reflect movement and direction.
Inspired by the Rolling Stones cover version of the song penned by the Rev Robert Wilkins.
A Blues song, hence the colours and feel to this textured artwork.
To achieve the finished quality of the painting, Inks were applied several times over the acrylics and removed gently to leave a pastel finish to the figures.

Kare is a textured artwork with thought evoking colours and figure. A very moody image and stance that is open to interpretation by the viewer.
Kare means "him" in Japanese. This is in contrast to the piece I have called "Mizu", (She).
53cm x 43cm in total .Housed in a distressed wooden frame with a clear Perspex cover to the painting.
Mizu is Japanese for "she"
This is a calming and reflective piece of art, with smooth linear shapes on top of a lightly textured canvas. The colours and tones are soothing and fresh. A very tranquil and natural feel to the painting.
measures a total of 53cm x 43cm. Housed in a white wooden frame.
This Artwork is a textured abstract that represents discovery and faith.
The two figures stand close to an object/symbol.
There is a familiarity and trust in what it means to them. A knowledge of the past and a hope for the future.
There is no threat: only enlightenment.
The textures below the tinted resin are rough and have earthy composition. As they rise through the surface, a smoother finish is evident.
A though provoking composition of movement and meaning.

The colours, shapes and movement reflect the relaxation and calming aspects of a childhood Lullaby.
Visually drawing the viewer into a soothing flow of images and golds with tints of copper and reflective resin.
The mixed textures lie below and above the lightly tinted resin to create a reflective finish to the Artwork.. Differing light sources will allow for the composition of the artwork to change in terms of hues, tones and shades.

Part of the "Harris Sands collection".
Whilst visiting the Isle of Harris, and took detailed and close-up photographs of the various beaches we walked on.
I then turned these into abstract artworks.
Luskentyre beach had an incredible sand formation caused by the tides, The lines and shapes the sand formed were very unique, and were highlighted by the beautiful waters found in this part of Scotland.
Textured paint was used to replicate the sand formations. This took quite a while to achieve as i wanted the raised sections to sit above the water.
Once the shapes and feel were correct, the sand was painted, and clear and coloured resin layered on top.
Housed in a white wood box frame. 50cm x 50cm x 4cm deep.
Mesa (120 x 90)
This painting was inspired by the distinct rock formations found in the national parks of Utah, as well as dramatic shapes and weathered formation of a ruined castle in Ayrshire, Scotland.
The smooth twilight colour palette emphasises the beauty and isolation of this structure.
Size: 120cm x 90cm.
Frame: White wood box Frame.
Relaxation and a meditative state of mind are the inspiration behind this artwork.
The palette is warm against the darker background as the Pastels and Golds blend effortlessly together. The Grey and White add a smoke like quality in contrast to the dynamic colours.
I have utilised varying textures to give rounded and linear effects to the artwork.
These are below the tinted resin, and in sections rise above to add a three dimensional aspect to this piece.
The forms and textures enhanced by the reflective nature of the finish gives the viewer an image that they can immerse themselves in as they become lost in thought.
Size - 60cm x 60cm Frame - 2cm x 4 cm Deep Black Wood Box Frame Medium - Textures/Acrylics/Resin.
As the tidal waters advance and recede in an incessant motion across the sand, it creates tones and shades in both blues and golds.
These are highlighted by the breaking waves and the white foam and swirling shapes that are created.
This is a layered representation of the flow and ebb of mother nature on our coastlines.
The sand is the initial textured and toned layer, with the subsequent tinted waters and foam layered above to give a deeper feel to the artwork.
Very reflective with natural or artificial light source.
Size - 60cm x 60cm Frame: - Housed in a 2cm x 4cm Deep White Wood Box Frame Medium - Acrylics, Textures & Resin
A distinctive artwork representing the malleable metallic element occurring in free metal.
The layering of textures coupled with the varying tonal effects of the metallics gives a natural earth like quality to the finished piece.
Reflective elements are visible in differing lights and these are enhanced by the shades and shadows cast by the differing layers of the textures.
I wanted this piece to represent the natural beauty of natures elements. It possesses a quality of richness. A sense of the untamed era of the American Goldrush prospectors discovering a vein that offers untold wealth.
The shapes and formations allow the viewer to be pulled into the artwork and discover movement and meaning across the canvas.
