Part of the "Harris Sands collection".
Whilst visiting the Isle of Harris, and took detailed and close-up photographs of the various beaches we walked on.
I then turned these into abstract artworks.
Luskentyre beach had an incredible sand formation caused by the tides, The lines and shapes the sand formed were very unique, and were highlighted by the beautiful waters found in this part of Scotland.
Textured paint was used to replicate the sand formations. This took quite a while to achieve as i wanted the raised sections to sit above the water.
Once the shapes and feel were correct, the sand was painted, and clear and coloured resin layered on top.
Housed in a white wood box frame. 50cm x 50cm x 4cm deep.
